Hi Julie from another Julie[msnwink] and welcome!!!

Well done on your 16lbs loss so far, it sounds like you are doing really well, I also have a treadmill so I know where you are coming from[msnwink]

The only thing I would say is 2lbs a week is the correct amount to lose and for it to stay off, but looking at what you are eating I don't think you are eating enough - this happened to me last year and I got stuck in a rut[msnsad] I have since joined Slimming World and I am eating far more and have lost 13lbs plus 4lbs I did on my own from the magazine and help on here before joining[clap] I think if you eat more at lunch you will fire up your met rate and burn more cals - you have to fuel the fire for it to burn so to speak[msnwink]

We will help you all we can so fire away with any questions!!!

Thanks for the replys so far and so quickly! (Yes I'm at work but thank god for the internet hey!)

I know about not eating enough slowing down the metabolic rate, but shouldn't my 25 mins on the treadmill keep that up? I also am scared that if I eat more I won't lose anyway, sometimes it seems a very fine line between not enough and too much!

Julie B's a good idea, saves confusion!

i've never posted my weight but for those who are wondering how much i have to lose or how big i was/am[msnembarrased]then here goes

when i started my weight loss journey i had a good 4-4.5 stone to lose and hooray!!! i'm almost at my 2 stone mark and it is getting harder, the goal seems far away and yes i look loads better and other people have commented on my weight loss but i dont feel that much different and i still have a lot to lose, staying focused and not letting go of my dreams is a challenge and one that i need to get past in order for me to cross that finish line and acheive my target weight[msnsmile2]

and I WILL CROSS THAT LINE AND REACH FOR MY GOALS EVEN IF IT TAKES ME ALL YEAR AND INTO SOME OF NEXT!!!!!

and girls even if we have a few lbs or a few stone to lose if you all keep hold of your dreams and have the determination to challenge yourselves then we will all cross that finish line even if some people get there quicker than others[clap][clap][clap]

Hi gals, am back from Florida, I will be brave and hop on the scales! OK that spurred me on, I have either stayed the same or put on a pound, but I am intending to be v good over the weekend so let's hope it's a stayed the same. Today is all out of kilter as did not feel like food at all when breakfast appeared, so ate the fresh fruit salad and had the tea, did not eat the sticky cinammon bun or the creamy yoghurt. Needlesss to say quite pecky by the time we had got through passports and luggage, and as we had a 45 min wait to be collected by ED as our flight came in early, had a mini mozzerella cheese & pesto panini with another cup of tea.

Welcome Julieb, I have another 4½ stone to lose, and need to have lost at least another half stone for an op in July. I am on a hormone drug following treatment for breast cancer so it is not easy, but I find the SW diet reasonably easy to follow. I would say you need to allow some potatoes or rice or pasta with either lunch or supper, being the smallest portion on your plate. And eat plenty of free foods. Don't forget when your body gets used to the exercise the fat converts to muscle and it weighs more. So you have to be patient and hang on in there. Let's face it we are all in the same boat, and we all like to encourage each other, everyone has a bad day / week etc. The good thing is to accept it and move on, and keep on the diet, not use it as an excuse to give up.

I joined SW two weeks ago and I have ate more in the past two weeks than I have ever ate. The plan is working for a few of us on here and it's really easy, I am eating the same foods I always eat but a little differently. I have so far lost 4.5lb and it's the first time I haven't felt like I'm on a diet.
The trouble with diets I've done in the past is I haven't been 100% committed I either can't eat this or that's too many points.
The effort to change will pay in the end.

Remember nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Welcome Julie B, I joined the girls a few weeks ago and they certainly are a motivating crew!!
I have stopped thinking in terms of how much I have to lose and by when as you set yourself up for failure that way when really you have done OK.
Break your target down into small chunks instead of saying X amount by March 2007, that is the mistake I have always made in the past and when the date comes and goes without the required weight loss it is just miserable and back to pigging out.
I have had a lot on since Easter and my weight loss has slowed down, but I haven't deprived myself and know that I can get straight back on to the plan with the help of the girls here.[msnsmile2]

Welcome back Fiona, glad you had a great time, did you manage to even up the tan in the end?[msnwink]

Well done to your dad Mizzy[clap][clap][clap]

Liz the welcoming comment from YD was "well could you be any browner mum"!! when I picked her up from the station this evening. Wore a strappy top on the drive down to Miami and had the top (of the car[msneek]) down for first half of the journey, so we both look very healthy. My legs of course are pale, so I am going to have to work on that - maybe back to the old favourite of fake sun tan!!

Totally jet lagged today so not worrying about what I ate, just had some french bread with cheddar and piccallili to try and stay awake, just off out with the dogs and then early supper and bed I think. Got a call at the airport from the dog groomers bringing the hounds cut and blow dry forward from 11.30 to 9.30 tomorrow morning - crumbs -so will HAVE to be up early!

Dearest darling daughters had mega row 2 days ago and YD stropped off to a friends the other side of Reading. We had phone calls for the last evening and morning we were at the villa, so left late as spent so much time on home trying to persuade YD to go back home[msnmad]. Heads have been cracked together and all now sorted. Nice to know we are missed isn't it?
