Liesa just a comparison if you swap the cheese for chicken look how many calories and sat fat you save[msnwink]

    Cheese, cheddar

    Nutrition Facts
    Amount per 2 oz

    Calories:
    228.7 kcal

    Water 20.87 g
    Carbohydrate* (1%) 0.73 g
    Protein (26%) 14.14 g
    Total Fat (72%) 18.82 g
    Monounsaturated 5.33 g
    Polyunsaturated 0.53 g
    Saturated 11.98 g
    Cholesterol 59.64 mg
    Dietary Fibre 0 g
    Alcohol (0%) 0 g

    Chicken breast, oven-roasted, fat-free, sliced

    Nutrition Facts
Amount per 1 serving 2 slices

    Calories:
    33.3 kcal

    Water 32.22 g
    Carbohydrate (11%) 0.91 g
    Protein (85%) 7.05 g
    Total Fat (4%) 0.16 g
    Monounsaturated 0.05 g
    Polyunsaturated 0.03 g
    Saturated 0.05 g
    Cholesterol 15.12 mg
    Dietary Fibre 0 g
    Alcohol (0%) 0 g

So just by having chicken in place of cheese you save almost 200 cals and 11.93g of satuarted fat[msnwink] Also check out the Cholesterol the chicken is so much lower than the cheese which is good for your arteries[msnwink]

Over time these changes really add up[msnwink]

    Hi

seems like everyone is having a good weekend

Julie you've been so good i'm sure you'll lose this week, can i ask are you having your syns? and are you eating to satisfy your appetite?

Liesa you can have cheese but it is a very SMALL amount
at SW it is classed as an healthy extra A choice but the weight for the amount of cheese is 28g other A choices include milk 350 ml skimmed per day or 250 ml semi skimmed

you really need to cut out the white bread though Liesa why not try having a wholemeal roll or wholemeal pitta bread instead of the french stick, you will feel fuller for longer if you switch to wholmeal

Sharon have a great night out[msnsmile2]

here's my food diary for today "green"

    0.1% fat actimel drink
    usual toast and jam
roasted peppers filled with rice, beans, onions and garlic
    activia yoghurt
quorn stir fry veg with noodles in teryaki sauce
    banana
and i am going to have some mini honeycomb bites for later with a options cinnamon hot choc[msntongue]6 syns for them both but soooo worth it[msnwink]

i rarely eat sandwiches, but did buy wholemeal bread for the future, today was a one off i dont usually eat french stick as it hurts my gums! (lose a tooth for every child born, 6 children, - a few of my chewing teeth missing)
cant tell you the latr time i ate cheese, cant say i enjoyed it tho, so will get chicken in future, have tuna tomorrow with wholemeal bread,
will do it!! i did use gold lowest fat spread today but again dont often have spread of any description, everything tastes so fatty!! not just saying it but i dont eat a lot of bread, cheese and spread at all!! not sure why i did today!
will do better this week have gained a lot of knowledge, thank you for all your guidence ladies!![grouphug]

Liesa you are doing really well, keep the motivation up, everyone is so keen to help you, because we all know how tough and hard it is. Once you get in the momentum though, and make the switches, finding alternatives for things you used to like, you find you start like the alternatives. Your tastebuds seem to alter. If I have some chocolate now, it takes soooo sweet, you only need a smidgen.

Mizzy asked me to post a photo, I managed to find one, and have popped it in Mug Shot thread. Its not the best photo, but it will do for now! [msnwink]
