    Jill - alone again

Hi everyone will let you know what I have been doing since I last checked in.

Wed - the plan was to go to Epcot and maybe MGM too. An early start and straight to Epcot first. We decided to look into annual pass prices for myself and maybe a different ticket for hubby as he doesn't come out as often. After enquiring - the prices were A LOT more expensive than we had anticipated and thought we'd just do Epcot today and maybe upgrade at a later date. This ended up being a wise move, I found I didn't really enjoy the park as much as I'd expected to. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney, but as a lone traveller alot of the time I really found that I enjoyed Seaworld and Universal more. I had really been looking forward to Test Track, I don't do a lot of fast rides, but unfortunately it was closed for refurbishment. I was very disappointed. Decided to head to Soarin' - neither of us had done this ride before and so got a fastpass and the wait was only 45 minutes, so had time to queue for "living with the land". This was a very gentle ride, quite enjoyed it but wouldn't bother again.

Time for Soarin' - I was quite nervous and I am not good with heights but usually try most things once. I'm glad I did, I loved it.

Headed for the world showcase and had lunch in China and afternoon coffee and cake in the UK. We took it very slowly as it was quite hot and very sunny.

Headed back to Soarin' for another ride before returning back to the villa. Back to Cracker Barrel in the evening for dinner, Chris tried the chicken and dumplings - a bit bland - and I had chicken breast.

Thursday - the weather forecast for today was great and so we intended to stay by the pool, which we did. Chris had sneaked in a bottle of champagne, which I didn't know about, we drank this at lunchtime and it was warm enough to have a swim[msnsmile2] Later in the evening we took a drive to Mannys Chophouse after reading so many good reports of the food. It was extremely busy when we arrived at 7pm, so had a drink at the bar (only diet coke for me) whilst we waited for a table. Only waited about 40 minutes. Chris had Sirloin with Grouper and a crab stuffing and I had a ribeye with sweet jacket potato. The quality of the food was far superior to anything else we had had so far and very reasonbly priced.

Friday - had made an appointment with an accountant and tax specialist today, something we should have done before now but you know what it's like. He was very helpful and we gained so much knowledge. The weather was VERY wet today and it didn't stop all day. Headed to Millenia mall for the afternoon, had a starbucks, bought yet more shoes (need to grow more feet) and a very hairy ride back down the I4 back to the villa. How there wasn't a very bad accident I don't know, people were driving too fast as the visibility was extremely low in such pouring rain. TFI Fridays for dinner - rubbish! Not much more to say really, I ate next to nothing.

Saturday am - still raining but not as bad as yesterday. Had quite a bad headache so didn't leave the villa until 3pm. Headed for Seaworld as Leann Rimes was playing there at 6pm. So glad we did. The concert was fantastic and even though we sat freezing it was a lovely way to end Chris' stay here. I am not a big country fan but she is one of my favourites, must have been feeling a little down at the thought of hubby going home because I have to confess she made me cry[msncry] Because we were so cold we stopped at Publix and got food from there to eat at the villa and snuggled up on the couch

Sunday am - Chris last day. Had checked him in for his flight on line last night so didn't need to leave here until 4pm so headed out to do some last minute shopping for the one's left at home. T-Shirts for the boys, and handbags for girlfriends. Back to the villa for an afternoon snack and sit by the pool (sunny but a bit chilly) before setting off to the airport. The 417 was completely empty, I sadly dropped him off and back in the villa by 5.15pm. It's just going dark here now, must be

Thanks for sharing your Florida trip with us Jill, we intend to go and try the soaring ride next month whilst in Florida, I want to see the view over San Francisco, having seen the real Golden Gate bridge last year.[msnsmile2]

Loved your report Jilly - how do you find being there on your own? Only ask as I will be doing it for the first time in the summer.

This is the fourth time in the last year that I have spent time on my own in Florida. The first day is a bit strange but I soon settle into the way of life.

I find it great when the sun is shining as I am quite happy with my own company sat by the pool reading a book. If the weather is a bit 'iffy' then I take myself off to the shops. Quite happy to go to the parks on my own too but don't eat out alone. Friends and family keep in touch with me by email and telephone, it certainly beats being in England in the rain and cold!

I shall be here again during April and June (will be booking my flights again once I get home), mostly by myself so if you're around then by all means get in touch and we can meet up.

Even when the family is here I tend to do the driving so there's no difference there - I know this what puts some people off.
