    Are Cypress Gardens closed?

I heard rumours that the Cypress Gardens are closed for the time being. Is this true, and if so for how long? It is a nice place to relax after the hullaballoo of the Disney and other theme parks.

Yes it is closed and for the foreseeable future unless some sort of rescue package can be put in place.

I've just got back today from FL and the Orlando Sentinel carried a big piece about the closure of Cypress Gardens alongside stories of other 'smaller' attractions struggling to survive. The exception is Dolly Parton's new Western theme nights that has just opened.

There was also a piece about them being taken to court by some of the ex workers for having laid them off without the requisite lay off period ( it was only a couple of days notice) It is likely it will go for residential use though Polk County is interested in acquiring the gardens as a public park.
