If you want some that will work over good range then motorolla are the best. I use them all the time when in the Alps and have never had a problem. Cheap ones tend to not have the range and can not work well in built up areas.

    Dom,
I found that when using Motorolla in FL there is often someone else talking on any frequency I choose.
It's most annoying as you hear a voice or a call signal and think someone is calling you.
In the end I returned them to the shop!

We bought ours in a bargain bucket in Walmart for $13 and they have a 2 mile range. Worked wonders when we were in the mall.

They decent ones have over 20 channels so you should be able to find a clear chanel, we have standby channels just incase someone is already on our chosen one. I am afraid there is no such thing as radio procedure or netiquette when it comes to these devices!

We've got them from walmart. They are fine although you do 'pick up' other people on the same frequency - which can add to the fun.

Easiest way is to allocate yourselves radio nicknames rather than your real ones, you'd be surprised how many Micks use the radio.
