    Walkie Talkies

As we may be splitting up in the parks so some can do water rides while others do coasters I was wondering whether to invest in some walkiw talkies.

If so would UK ones work OK in Florida or would I be best getting them over there.

Any help or tips would be great

    Cheers all

They are very cheap to buy in Florida - sorry can't remember exactly as we bought ours ages ago.

We leave them in our villa for guests to use.

There is no problem with UK and US ones working in the other Country but it is illegal to do so as they both use different frequency channels to operate and the ones used by the US are used by emergency services over in the UK.

They are cheaper in the US so it's worth getting someover there anyway.

We bought our Motorola ones in Walmart for around the $40 mark. Work up to 1.5 miles.

We bought 2 Boost 'Pay as you go' cell phones from Target and they have a walkie talkie feature.
For $1 per day you can hold a quality conversation throughout the States.

We have just bought some rechargable ones from Wal Mart to leave in our villa for guests to use. They were $28 - sorry can't remember the make. They claim to have a range of 2-6 miles depending on which channel you use. You have to get a license to use the channels with the 6 mile range, not sure where to get one from so we will stick to the channels with the 2 mile range.

You can get them out there, ours cover about an 6 mile range (We did not need a license) but you can get cheaper ones that cover upto a couple of miles. All the usual stores sell them.

We got ours in Walmart (make Uniden). I think they cost about $29 including the charger and they are a Godsend.
Very useful and the range was good great way to keep in touch.
