We went in both September and December last year. September was a 9 day trip, just the two of us, and December with our two boys. Both were great times to go and our kids loved the Festive decorations and the atmosphere in December. However, they did miss going to the water parks as it was not quite warm enough to spend a day in one (for them). The weather in September was fabulous, so if we had a choice and could take the kids out of school, we would definitely opt for September.

After the 2nd January it is a great time to be in Orlando as there are not as many queues as most people are heading back home. September is also great but if I had the choice of the two it would be December into January, mind you I would go any month given half the chance[8D]

It really depends on what you want, Carol, as these two times are very different. Christmas is magical, but obviously the days are shorter and its cooler, but September is a great time as there are fewer people, and its hotter.

It's a difficult choice, but I certainly wouldn't worry about hurricanes. The press love a good story, and unfortunately they spend a lot of time building up to a hurricane then lose interest when it fizzles out. Hurricanes have always been around, its just that the media have picked up on them as being good stories. As others have said, they rarely cause any problems - my daughter was working in Miami for a year and she said they were not as bad as walking to University on a windy day in Surrey! So don't worry!

I would choose September, simply because it is such a lovely warm time to visit, but whichever date you choose you will have a wonderful, if different, time.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.
