    Curry House

    Hi All,

Is their such a thing as a good Curry in Florida ??? (Take away)
The last time we was over we tried a curry from the one on 192 not sure what it was called but was expensive & not that great.

Or am I just going to have to cook my own every time ?#

I never managed to find one in 4 yeats of living there. Those that were 'ok' were very expensive. It you want hot and spicy check out Chevys Fresh Mex on the 192 mexican food at its best and reasoanble. No tinned ingrediants allowed in the kitchen, all fresh.

There is an Indian restaurant on the US27 which do take-away. I think it is called Sagram or Sangam. We have eaten from there a couple of times and although not as good as at home we found it quite good.

There is also one on Sand Lake Road between I Drive and Universal Blvd, I think that one is called A Passage to India. It is on a small plaza.

There are also 2 Passage to Indias on the 192, both the West end, one is a takeaway only. We have found these expensive and first meal was good, second and third was not! We have had a few takeaways from Sangams and although not as good as here in UK, perfectly acceptable. They make me a Saag Shrimp which is always delicious (they only have Saag Chicken on the menu), Chris has Dhansak or Madras, and the gals have Korma or Tikka.

We ate on the one on the 27 last week. Nowhere near as good as back in the UK but passable and we were all of the same agreement, we would go again. It can be a wee bit slow and was packed out with mainly Brits all night long. One of the party had Korma (yuck) which was spicey...hello! I had the Chicken Dansac and asked for it super hot as I like the taste of the lentils but it is not normal spicy enough and I usually have Madras or Vindaloo at a push, so will try that next time.

I can recommend both the madras and the vindaloo.

You must be very brave CDV to stomach a Vindaloo, I love Biryani's. Chloe

My husband is a curry lover (not I though!) and said the best one is the one on the US27 that Karen above mentioned. It is at the entrance to Polo Park (Esprit), Sangam (Sp?). It wasn't licenced when Geoff was over, not sure whether it is now.
