My husband & I are curry lovers and though we have been visiting Florida for 8 years and have owned a villa for 5 we have never found a really good curry house, that is the only think I miss about home when visiting Florida. I am told that a lot of the curries in Florida are from Southern India where the ones we tend to get in the UK are northern India and they are totally different and even though they are called the same, the spices used are different. (So I have been told) Did find one on International drive once but it was mega bucks.

Dianne, We had wine when we were there last week but it was $20 a bottle, think that is all they have alcohol wise, although it is not advertised we had to ask as we thought it looked lke a BYOB when we walked in. It used to be a deli and bakery and you can tell it was a shop when you are in there dining..

Sorry Vicky, although I love it, I have no idea how to make a proper one. I would think you may find a recipe on the Internet. Chloe

It's funny reading this topic....everyone is agreed that the Indian meals are better home in ENGLAND[msneek] actually my parents went to China a few years back and both thought the Chinese meals were much nicer here than in China[laugh][laugh][laugh]

Our MC (who orinates from the NE) loves curries and says she has never found anywhere decent. She stocks up with sauces and the like whenever she comes back to the UK.

The best curry I have ever had was in Glasgow. Nothing has come remotely close, although I did find a very good one in Dorset whilst living there. Even in Asia they are different. I lived in Nepal a while back and they were nowhere near as nice. Hong Kong has a big Indian Community and the curries were very good, but you could not imagine how dirty the surroundings were, especially in Chunkin Mansions on Nathan Road.

Re the Chinese, I don't like Chinese that much and living in Hong Kong for almost 3 years we only ever found one place that sold Chinese as we know it and it was called the American Peking and was aimed at the Ex Pat community.

Had a take away once from the Passage to India on the end of the 192. It was too expensive and not at all worth it!

I now just cook my own curries with spices I've taken over form England!![msnwink][msnwink]

We tried the Sangam on H27 by Polo Park in September and were very pleasantly surprised. We did have take away though as we had been warned that everything is made to order so you have to wait if you eat in. We phoned the order through early in the day and told them what time we would be collecting it, as we arrived they were packing it up so we didn't have to wait at all. I must say the decor is very dodgy, mis-matched chairs and tables left over from the bakery, so we were glad we decided on a takeaway.
