    For and Against......Animal Kingdom

    Hi All

Still having fun reading the forum...getting addictive!

With only two weeks and so much to do, Scottie and I have been drawing up a list of what we want to do in order or preference, to try and make the most of it, however................

Animal Kingdom......don't know much about it.....can any of you enlighten me....and wether you think 'For or Against!'

    Hey Benny,

well, we've only done Animal Kingdom once, and we were a bit split on it. If Animals are your thing then you'll enjoy it. We went on an extremely hot day and it was a bit sapping with not much shade so everyone was very tired at the end of the day[xx(].

When it comes down to it, all the major parks are fantastic, if you have the money and the time, why not?[msnsmile2]

It has the Festival of the Lion King show, which in my opinion is one of the best shows in any of the Disney theme parks.

Depending on when you go there is the new attraction, Everest, that is due to soft open next March/April I think and so will likely be fully open to the public a month or so later.

I've always thought that AK makes a great half day, and if you have a ticket that allows park hopping you can do a morning and half the afternoon in AK (to watch the parade) and then head over to Magic Kingdom just as MK starts getting a bit quieter with people leaving.

I'vebeen twice now and enjoyed it much more last year than I did about 4 years ago. I can't think of any reason not to go, it's now a firm favourite with us. The Lion King Show is fantastic, even more so last year because my eldest daughter was took center stage to dance.
You will love it....you have got to go

My boys love AK and we go every visit.

If you want to do the safari our tip is to go later in the afternoon, we have always seen more animals going then.

We love AK and would definitely recommend it. Favourites are Kilimajaro Safaris, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Lion King show, Kali River Rapids and soon, Expedition Everest. It also has (IMHO) one of the nicest and most intimate parades of any of the Disney parks.

    Love animal kingdom!!!!!!!!!

There is so much to see and do. The Festival of the Lion King Show is fantastic and a must see. Also Its Tough to be a Bug is great. The rides in Dinoland USA are fun too and I have never been so wet as I was after Kali River Rapids.

The best bit is the animals though. The Kilimanjao safaris ride is tremendous with all the animals looking very free (although obviously not!!!!). With this one it is best as someone has said to avoid seeing it in the heat of the day. Early morning and afternoon are best.

One tip we found useful this year is that people who enter the park at opening all head towards the safari ride. We used to send someone to Kali river rapids for a fast pass and then ride standby on the safari first thing. By the time that was over it was time for the rapids. But if you do it the other way around it is much better. Getting a fastpass for the safari ad riding Kali is a much smaller queue. then you can head over to the safari and ride your fastpass. If you really enjoyed Kali you could get a fastpass for there before going to the safari as long as your time slot has come up!!!!

God - it was exhausting just typing that!!! - how do we cope actually doing it???????????
