For all those who have got married in Florida

How was your Wedding Dress insured for the flight over? I can't find any insurance companies that do Wedding Insurance that covers the Transit of the Wedding Dress to and from the Overseas venue?

I have emailed my Travel Insurance company to see if i can increase the single item cover on the Personal Property section on our Travel Insurance as that currently only stands at £250.

    Anybody got any other ideas?

I'm afraid I have never had experience of a Florida Wedding but forum users alanandjude were married over there. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you sent them a DM for advice.

I carried mine on Board - flew with BA. There was no room for them to hang it up but they put it in the first class section over an empty seat. I suggested that my dress fly economy and I would take the first class seat but they were having none of it.

My Husbands wedding suit was flown over in a case in the hold - my travel insurance company said my outfits were covered under the general lost luggage section, but still took my dress on as hand luggage just in case.

    Where are you getting married?

I've been told by Virgin that I can[msnwink][msnwink].....I couldn't bear the thought of it not turning up at the other end if it were to go through as main luggage!!![msncry][msncry]..no amount of insurance would replace the upset and inconvienence[msnwink]

Regal Palms at Highlands Reserve Resort down the 27.

I have found a company that insure the whole wedding overseas and as long as the Wedding Attire is packed securely it is covered in transit as well!!! [clap]

my daughter bought her wedding dress on the may trip and we built a special closet in the walk in wardrobe for it.

It was fine-no-one tampered with it-I just made sure I told everyone what it was.

They are so much cheaper over there. Everything is so much cheaper over there.
