Sounds fantstic, I hads a similiar experience in the South Atlantic with Killer Whales and I did have my camera, made me shiver...hence why I am not too keen on performing whales.........

My daughter would have loved to see this Ruth. She is a dolphin fanatic. In fact her dream job would be a dolphin trainer.

My daughter spoke at great length to an English trainer at Sea World a couple of years ago, as she thought about becoming a trainer. They said it was actually quite easy to get in there! Make sure you take Sciences as a subject at school, and do well in them, then take some related subject in college. Then write to Sea World! That's all she did, and apparently they don't get that many requests, hard as it may seem to believe! Apparently people don't bother, as they think that they will be inundated with requests. They love taking English people too............ So, give it a go!
There is nothing more awe inspiring than seeing dolphins in the wild.
I'm very envious Ruth.
Just remembered when I was living in Hong Kong, we went on a junk for an afernoon cruise and a pod of pink dophins folowed us all afternoon and that was magical as they are an endangered species.

Both my girls want to be dolphin trainers too but I wonder if having seen them in the wild a few times it might put them off wanting to be associated with captive dolphins. Well we will see.

A few years ago, we were eating out in Siesta key and on the menu was Mahi Mahi. I asked what it was and the waitress explained it was Dolphin. I told her how appalled I thought this was, and she gleefully explained it wasn't the Mammal. It's a fish caled dolphin.[msnembarrased]
I was very embarrassed. I did have it though, very tasty. Yummy, dolphin and chips.[msnsmile2]
(It might be spelt Dolfin? not too sure about that.)

We were out for a walk yesterday on the south coast of england and saw a dolphin swimming in the Solent. he was actually swimming up and down some people who were getting an inflatable out of the water. Must have wanted the company. Cannot imagine what he was doing in our cold waters.
