Next place we went was Universal and IOA First thing we noticed as we went in Universal was that the Jaws ride was closed. Apparently, they are closing certain attractions during the quieter times of the year. The park was fairly busy and the first ride we went to was Revenge of the Mummy. I had been on it last year but it wasn’t there when Jay and Dawn last came. They had a couple or these Egyptian type guys on stilts outside one of them set off after Paige chasing her down the road screaming…. Paige that is.[msneek] We went to see how long the wait was as people were queuing outside. It was 50 mins! We said lets get a fast pass and come back later. That’s when we discovered that all the fast pass machines were all covered up. You could buy them in the shops for $15. We thought about it and decided against it as it was $25 each for the 2 parks. We were cheesed off as we saw it as just another way of getting money out of people. We did Twister. Jay, Dawnie and Paige did Shrek while we waited outside with Ollie who was by now having her daily afternoon nap. They also did Earthquake. Which I think has seen better days and is getting a bit dated. We had a coffee and some cake at the little café opposite. We then went to IOA and Jay & Dawnie did all the coasters in there. They especially like the Hulk. While they were on there we took Paige to the cosmic countdown, or something like that, just behind the Hulk. It’s a bit like the Cup & Saucers ride in Disney. She got in a car on her own only to be joined by another family. I was filming her on the ride so now we call them her adopted family. Ripsaw falls was closed for maintenance. We all went on Bluto’s bilge rat barges. Got pretty wet too![msnscared] Plus it was still a bit cool after the cold front. But each day was very sunny and was warming up nicely. We went on the Jurassic Park Adventure ride. Paige came on this one for the first time with Dawnie, Jay and me. She doesn’t like rides with big drops and we told her it’s not that big a drop. As you can only see about the bottom third of the drop as it exits the building. Needless to say we got very good picture of her facial expression from the camera as you drop down. We had to buy that one. Another attraction that was closed was Poseidon’s Fury.[msnsad] We had Crackerbarrel for tea and then we went home.
Next day we went back to Typhoon Lagoon. We always get there about 9:30 to 9:45 once they start to let people in the gates. You then have to queue at the bridge before they let you in at 10:00. Well, here’s a tip. If you go towards the bridge just go past the doughnut stand and hair braiding and turn right. You will then walk down along side the lazy river where you come to Typhoon Tilly’s straight opposite that is another bridge and there is never many people waiting there.[msnwink] Anyway we get our usual seats and off goes Paige to do her thing. We all go in the wave pool and manage to persuade Dawn to go on Gush ‘n’ Crusher so we head off to do that. We get a 3 man tube and Dawnie, Dawn and I in that order mount the tube. We had two goes and Dawn really enjoyed it. We said we would come back later and do it again. After lunch Paige said she would go on it too so, Dawn, Paige and Me would give it a go. When we got there Paige changed her mind So Dawnie, said she would go too. Anyway we got into our usual positions and this time we said we would lean back a bit to reduce drag, our bottoms through the tubes[msnwink], so off we go, and we were flying down the first drop and up to the second drop and up towards the third and final drop and we were in the tunnel flying….. all of a sudden the tube flipped over I let go of the tube and heard Dawn go in to the drop she went with such a bang as she landed on her back and her head hit the floor, I landed on my side on my hip I didn’t see what happened to Dawnie she went up the other side with the water pressure and she came out of the tube at the bottom and into the water. Dawn was off up the ramp and through the tunnel and into the water….. I could hear people waiting for tu
