    E-bay scammers

My daughter put a few items on E-bay and made a few people very, very happy with the bargains they bought. However, what has completely spoilt the whole experience is scummers - sorry scammers.

They waste your time and money and get my blood boiling. How anyone thinks it's a genuine offer to buy when they bid £155 for something selling at £19 beats me.

Any scammers looking in on this site - stop wasting out time and get a life !!!

There, I feel better now after a good moan - even if it has to be taken off by moderators, I still feel better

I bought and paid for a dvd in the summer, I never received it. I did report to ebay and although they got back tome on numerous occasions I never did get my money back. It has made me very wary now.[gun][gun][gun][gun]

I have bought and sold quite a bit on ebay - most sellers are genuine. You just have to try and take care over who you are dealing with - check feedback and stuff.

i am the same as Jan
i buy and sell on ebay and i have only ever had one problem and that was a description error

most sellers are genuine and if items dont arrive then you need to get a copy of the proof of posting and you can claim compensation from the royal mail

checking feedback will tell you if the seller or buyer has a good record i never buy from someone who has a low feedback score

I have only discovered ebay in the last year - so far so good, but it is good to know that you have to watch out[msnoo]

I am an EBay veteran with almost 1000 feedbacks and only yesterday I received an item damaged in a way that can't be repaired so the item is of no use. The guy is refusing to refund me saying the item was not damaged on despatch, it had to be there is no way it was cut in the post. The good thing is I have 5 options for refund.

Ebay, I have to say though the are never very helpful

Paypal, much more helful although still owned by Ebay

Barclaycard, I paid by my Platinum card so they will listen as it is fraud and I am relying on this option.

The Sheriff, after all it is fraud as he used a glossy picture to advertise the product and then sent me the one he was selling.

USPS, If he is claiming it was damaged enroute, (Absolutely no chance in my opinion).

I may have a sixth option as after I tell him the 5 options above he might refund and then he can claim if he recons they were damaged enroute!

Does he really just expect me to say oh that is you just keep my $230 and I will throw the item away...he obviously does not know CDV. I will win this situation no matter how long it takes.

In my 3+ years of using EBay I have only had 5 bad dealings, 2 American including this item and 3 UK sellers/buyers.

Sundowner, I got an offer of £75 for something that I had advertissed at £250 and even that was half price, I was totally insulted but I politely refused.

My husband buys and sells a few things on ebay and has only had 2 problems and as soon as he let them know it was sorted out. As others have said always check feedback.

I have brought and sold on ebay for quite sometime now, we recently brought a mini moto for my son for xmas, the one we received was totally different to the one advertised!! After a lot of ignored emails we received the bike we paid for, this unfortunately didn't work properly!! To cut a long story short, we managed to get in touch with the guys warehouse, were from he sends the bikes, this guy had no idea we had been promised a new bike and said sorry and a new one has now been delivered to us, they didn't take the other one back so now we have 2[msnwink] and if this guy phones or emails well he will be ignored and the bike sold on[msnscared] Am I wrong for doing this? Also watch out for spoof emails from Paypal, I had one the other day, telling me my account had been frozen because they needed to update my records. I passed it onto ebay and they confirmed it wasn't from them or Paypal!![:O] mostly we have had good dealings with ebay though[msnembarrased]
