tuesday - day 5 - busch gardens
We boarded the shuttle to busch gardens from the mercado on I drive and made our way to busch gardens under the careful watch of Dan the bus driver. he was hilarious and kept us entertained throughout the 1 hr bus journey. It didnt take too long to get there, but when we arrived it was very busy, presumably due to it being Thanks giving week. We got a map and decided that today the four of us would split up into twos and spend the day doing the parks the way we wanted. First stop for me and simon was gwazi. and at ariund 10 am this was the longest queue for us of the whole day. we waited until 10.30 for the worst ride i have ever been on. I have never shook so much in all my life. it was definatly the scarist ride of the whole holiday! we walked through the gardens, looking at the all the gorgeous plants and birds, and we spotted sheirka! We headed straight for it and couldnt wait to get on. there was no queue at all and we opted for the back seats. Wwe jumped on and Ii was really excited, until the cart started making its way up, and then I felt really sick. I didnt want to continue on the ride at all, i was scared to death. but as we reached the top and moved towards the decline I got really excited and relaxed, then off we went, straight down and the rest of the ride was great! We went on three more times. The last time we went on we sat in middle of the front row, and bought the dvd to show all our friends. Im so gald we did this, I think it cost $18, and it was well worth it! From here we went to, stanley falls, python, which was really shakey, and then to scorpion. After this we grabbed lunch and waited for a train to take us round the park. It was lovely, and we seen as much almost as stephanie and davey did, and they took the safari thing. From there we did montu, which was great, and which had no queue all day, and kumba which i loved. by the time the afternoon came, we made our way back to sheirka and found that the wait time was almost 2 hours [msnoo], we wouldnt be doing that again then! We wondered around the park, and made our way into the hospitality bit, which was great! Simon then got a charicature done, and by this stage it was almost 5 o'clock and time for the bus home. Simon and I really liked this park, and it was both of our first times there. Unfortunatly we didnt have time to fit in any shows, but stephanie and david seen a few and they thought they were very good. It had been another glorious day, so we jumped staight into the pool when we got back. Then it was out to TGI firdays for a huge steak and their mash potatoes [msnwink] and the fudge brownie thing for desert [msntongue]Im now offically in love with TGI fridays and we dont have one in northern Ireland [msncry][msncry] so i'll have to go the next time im in dublin. we headed back to the hotel for an early night, but called into the hotel bar on the way, and got caught up in karaoke! I found the voice i never knew i had as i belted out a spice girls number! [msneek]it was good fun though and we stayed up way later than intended!
ps. im sorry about the spelling mistakes! but i dont have time to fix them [msnsmile2]
