We went to the parks on 4th July 2 years ago and they were heaving. I would stay away and go to celebration as everyone says above.

Hi, I have been looking through this topic with great interest, we are flying out on 4th July this year[msnsmile2] Can't wait, we will arrive at approx 14.35, so looking at actually being at the villa about 5ish, depending on ques at airport[msnembarrased]
What time would people suggest being at Celebration? If there is a bus service, where will it be from? There will be 6 of us, 3 kids, 3 adults.
    Thanks

We have done the Waterfront at Downtown Kissimmee twice now on 4th of July. Would thoroughly recommend it. Its more a local event with different stages featuring comedy, barber shop, country, pop - all free of charge. Also lots of other stalls and kiosks. The buses from Albertsons are also free. In the evening there is a massive firework display over the lake.

Thanks for reviving this topic....I was gonna ask about 4th July myself, as we will also be out there. I think Celebration was fairly new when we were last in Orlando (2003), so I guess its time to check it out!
Will drag hubby there before the 4th...just as a reccy mission, of course! [msnsmile2]

Any other suggestions would be gratefully accepted!

    Where, exactly is Albertsons?
Is the waterfront at Downtown Kissimee near Old Town?
    Thanks

    Hi Vicky

Albertsons is a supermarket, it is on the right hand side of the John Young Parkway (Vine Street), just south of highway 192. It is about a mile from the Waterfront, and has a good sized easy accessable car park.
Downtown Kissimmee is about 3 miles east of Old Town, along the 192 towards St Cloud. As you go towards St Cloud you will pass John Young. When you reach the lights at highway 17/92 Orange Blossom Trail, turn right under the historic kissimmee sign. Carry on down to the small town of Kissimmee. The waterfront is on the left behind the shops. You can normally drive along the waterfront, but not on 4th July.
If you look on google maps, you can see where Kissimmee sits on Lake Toho.
