    Julie's Florida Food Diary - 4

Hope you're ready for some more

    Saturday 5th
    Time to leave Sarasota [msncry]
Had a great week, usually we meet up with friends here but because we came later than normal we missed them this year so it was quieter than usual but a lovely relaxing week.
I really do want to live here, did I mention that before?

Had our final breakfast and walk along the beach on Siesta before setting off on the drive to Orlando.

First time we’ve stayed on the US27 but found our way to the villa easily, arrived about 1pm. Quickly unpacked, piled all the shopping in a spare bedroom – there looks a lot….. [msnoo]
Had a drive out to find our nearest Publix for shopping and to familiarise myself with the roads and exactly where we are before having to find my way back in the dark tonight.
Decided to go to Tony Roma’s for ribs tonight as Mum has been looking forward to tasting their ribs again. What a long drive it was!!! Perhaps because it was Saturday, perhaps because it was the first time I’d done it after the relatively quiet roads of Sarasota, perhaps because we were starving but we seemed to take forever to get there. I’ve got to say I was slightly disappointed with TR’s – it was freezing in the restaurant and the prices seemed a lot higher than last year but having said that the ribs as ever were fantastic! Thankfully the drive home was better than the one there. A small nightcap or two before bed.

    Sunday 6th
Had breakfast by the pool (although it was never busy around the pool at Sarasota it is nice to have your own pool) – the usual toast, cookies, donuts, fruit, juice and coffee. Spent a few hours by the pool before setting off to Mall of Millenia. Called at the food court for a snack to keep me going and then hit the shops. The anticipation of going to the Cheesecake Factory built as the afternoon went on….
We were told there was a 30 minute wait at the CF – but after about 15 minutes we saw people who arrived after us being seated, went to the desk to complain and seemingly our bleeper wasn’t working and they seated us immediately.
There was only one thing on my mind by now “bang bang chicken and shrimp” – eaten perhaps a bit too quickly and followed by caramel cheesecake…. Heaven [msntongue] [msntongue] [msntongue] [clap] [clap] [clap]
An uneventful drive home – and the usual drinks and tv before bed.

    Monday 7th
Hit the IHOP for breakfast, another place very high on my list, I just couldn’t decide what to have, I wanted it all….
Just had to have a country omelette, my fav here, after all we had several mornings left to sample more of the menu. Having eaten the omelette I did need some help with the pancakes.
Headed to Celebration, had to catch up with the alligators’ progress and see how much they’ve grown. Browsed the shops – bought a few bits and pieces and then watched the world go by from a rocking chair [msncool]
As it was a little cloudy we decided to stick with the shopping and went to Lake Buena Vista shops – and carried on spending.
Back to Buena Vista tonight, as there was over an hours wait at Bahama Breeze we and ended up at the Crab House, first time visit here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had the sampler for starters and herb roasted Chilean Sea Bass [msntongue] Another place for my list to return to.
Called at premium outlets but as it was nearly closing time just did a quick bit of window shopping.

All shopped out tonight – only one bottle of Bud light and I was fast asleep[|)] [|)]

    NIce report again Julie.

I hope you realise that I am basing my entire next holiday eating routine entirely on your trip reports?[msnsmile2]

I always say I would love to live there but if we are being really serious - perhaps what I should say is that I would like to be able to spend as much time there each year as the visa waiver allows.

    One day ......
