I really don't know how you define "balance". There are scores of threads singing the praises of Florida and this single thread asking specifically what is bad about Florida.
Macka started this thread by stating his dislike for USA TV - surely most of us would agree with that. If you don't agree about TV then say so, after all this is a forum. It is surely not necessary to say "I dislike TV" but love another aspect of Florida to give it balance.
The 'balance' is heavily in favour of Florida or we wouldn't go there.
I really don't understand the concept of 'no one minds anyone having an opinion as long as we get some balance'.
Why would you think it's acceptable to suggest that mine, or anyone's opinion, should concur with yours. This is what a forum is all about. It's not up to anyone to judge anything. You don't need to balance with my opinion and I don't need to balance with yours.
Julie is quite right I think, there are pluses and minuses everywhere. I love my Florida home, but I equally love my apartment in Bulgaria. The homes themselves could not be more different and the same applies to Bulgaria V. Florida, as I am sure you can well imagine, they may aswell be on different planets. But so long as in each case the pluses outway the negatives then that is fine. Chloe
I love American TV especially Americas finest here are my favourites in no particular order:
CSI
CSI MIAMI
CSI NEW YORK
LAW AND ORDER
LAW AND ORDER SVU
LAW AND ORDER CRIMINAL INTENT
LAW AND ORDER THE NEW ONE...
THE SHEILD
COLD CASE
SOPRANOS
THE SIMPSONS
BUFFY
4400
I could go on and on and on, but you get the message. What's even better is that at home in the States we get to watch it on a 51 inch HDTV![msncool]

Re TV, it is the constant banal adverts that ruin even the(few) good programmes for me.
Most of my friends now record all programmes on a digital hard disk recorder, and start watching half an hour or so after it has started, so they can 'fast forward' thro' the adverts.
So as not to offend 'god fearing middle America' there is a 'prudish'(IMO) censorship of any scenes of a $exual nature; but the most graphic scenes of violence are allowed.
Robert, how would we ever find out about all those useful items for the kitchen we did not know we just had to have if it was not for all those adverts?![]()
