    YORK

Anyone live in or know York well? Just after picking your brains about a few things?

Two sisters live there and one brother. I go to visit them but truthfully I go to visit all the little shops. They have some great ones for arts and crafts.Just up your street CDV if it is shopping you are after. There are some loverly little upmarket ones.

Ok I will tell you why I am asking. I am moving there in the Spring. One last contract before the move to the USA! I just want to get a feel for the place as I have never been before. My parents love it. I have stayed in Harrogate in the past. Is York expensive? What are the best areas to live in? Any special little finds I should know about? It's under two hours to my parents house, so that will please them seeing me more often. Plus I get to catch up with a lot more people I have met on here

York's lovely CDV, not too far away from me - I'm sure you'll enjoy living there (almost as much as you'll enjoy the USA [msnwink])

About 20 years ago I used to spend most weekends there with a friend but I only go occasionally now so can't be much help to you - but I'm sure there'll be others who can pass on lots of tips
