On a more serious note, the best thing for me about Christmas, is that people are so much more friendly towards each other. Folk can do kind things for each other that they might not ordinarily do, .[^]

Thats very true Paul, but its the saddest part of the year for so many
I was a Samaritan counselor for many years.
This may be very hard to believe, but when so many are having a great time, with family and friends.
Thousands are sad, miserable, lonely and homeless, also Christmas, and New Year time, is some when couples realise their marriages are not working out
January and February are the busiest months foe suicides, cruelty seperationsand divorcé papers being issued
Sorry to put a dampener on this thread, doesn't do any harm. for just a minute to remember the less fortunate

We normally put the tree up in the first week of December and take it down just after new year. We are going to the Florida this Christmas and it will be the first time we have been away at this time of year. Not sure if we will bother putting the tree up at home as Cathy does not want to leave the lights on a timer switch whilst we are away.
We will put the tree up in the Villa as soon as we get there.
On the subject of lights there is a house down our street that is already lit up with hundreds of lights, a santa on the roof as well as a large christmas tree and i thought we were early putting it up during the first week of December.
