    iPod experts - help please!!!

    Help!!

I just bought an audio CD book to download onto my ipod (to make a 12 hour flight to LA next week a bit more comfortable).

The book has 12 individual CD's which I have started to import to iTunes. Each CD has untitled numbered tracks (track 1, track 2 etc....).

My problem is that the iTunes library sorts the list into all the 'Track 1's' then all the 'Tracks 2's' and so on. Am I right in thinking that when I download to the iPod they won't be in the sequence of the chapters? If so, how can I rectify this other than loading each CD onto iTunes individually and then onto the iPod in the same way?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi

Im not by any means an iPod expert but try this as a similar thing happend to me.
You may need to delete all the new tracks from iTunes then try this.
Open your internet browser at any page then minimise it and open iTunes and try reloading the tracks there is a web based database of millions of names of cd's both music and talking books so it should be able to pick the names up and add them to iTunes.

    Hope this works !!!

    Regards Chris.

You can re-name any song/track on itunes once it's loaded. Juat load each CD and before you load the next one, remane each track. maybe track 1a, track 2a..?

    Hope it works

Sounds like a good suggestion - I've never tried an audiobook on my iPod but this is what I would probably try if I had to.

Right click on a track and then choose Get Info to change a track name if you do not know already.

Yes. Name them CD by CD
If you use Title then volume then number up to 9 it will load in sequence.

I made the mistake of not doing this when I loaded my collection of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy CDs and they are now random SOB SOB.

There are loads of iPod hacks, so there may be a simple way around this. If I find it I will post.

Many thanks to all - I hadn't realised it was possible to rename the CD's.

I just renamed each disc Alpha, Bravo, Charlie etc... Worked a treat!
