I bought my mini ipod 4gb from the bose store in orlando along with a bose sound dock.
This little combination has replaced all my home stereo setup and due to the build and ease of use i have recently bought a mac mini.

The next purchase will be one of the video ipods!

That's a shame as we are up in the area on Sunday to take Isaac to a party and was hoping to sneak in an hour at the new Apple Store. I'll maybe try Selfridges instead but it's not the same [msnsad].

My son [12 going on 18 these days] has asked for an iPod for Xmas - should I be getting him the one with video then, and not the Nano - [ i was going for nano as it was to replace his MP3 player, and looked neat]
Also - whats this engraving milarkey -will they do that in store, or do you have to order from somewhere

It depends how much music he has - the Nano 4Gb only fits around 1000 songs on - the 2Gb model around 500 songs. If he has more than this then you would be better going for one of the Video iPod's as they are MUCH bigger in terms of storage space and will accommodate even the most ardent CD collector.

As far as I know you can only get them engraved by ordering online direct from Apple. I've never seen in-store engraving.

I would second John advice. Engraving is only done through Apple.

Personally I would go for the 30gb iPod Video, my 8 y/o has the original 5gb iPod and has managed to fill it, and for a 12 y/o it will be great to download music vidoes to go with his tracks[msnwink]

It's also better value for money[msnwink]

Looked at them today and they are around a 1/3 slimmer than the 4th gen one and the same price as the 4th gen 20gb, looks like a good buy.
