Goofy!

Hi all

Just having a typical Friday afternoon at work and the topic has come up as to what animal is Goofy? I immediately said Dog but nobody is actually sure with some agreeing he is a horse.

What's the correct answer?

Must do some work!

Goofy is a dog, he first appeared in 1932 and was the called Dippy Dawg(he wore square glasses) but then he developed into goofy (1934)which is how we now know him.

I am just going to have to ask him myself next week and get him to write it down in my daughter's autograph book as evidence as they are convinced here at work that he is a horse.

He is a dog.

The story of Goofy is told briefly on my Goofy Mug.

As someone rightly says he first appeared as Dippy Dawg and then became known as Goofy in a later movie, possibly 1939.

A point about him being dippy though, in Mickeys the Prince and the Pauper Pluto knows instantly that the Pauper isn't Mickey after smelling him whereas Goofy, even though he is a dog, can't tell the difference because he is stupid.
