    Im having a panic

I have just realised that we are planning on flying back on 23.11.06, Thanks Giving day - we have the Villa booked but not the flights. Do you think I will have problems getting flights on that day - or will they cost more because of Thanks giving?
Has anyone else flown on Thanks Giving day before?

It depends who you want to fly with.

Have you tried the link to flights on here, they can give you a very competitive quote,

Another option if there is no availability, although it might be more expensive is to try going indirect flights, this way, you have an option of using other less busy US airports as the connecting flight.

I was planning on using Virgin Miles + Money, but the flights for Novemebr 06 aren't release yet. Perhaps I will just have to wait and see what happens when they are released?

cost are higher around that time...because its a big holiday here and everyone goes home......I don't know about the flights to and from the UK.....I just had a look at jetblue for thanksgiving day.......and they have normal service...but the price is sky high.......so I can't see a problem with flying to the UK that day........apart from cost

Thanksgiving is on the 24th Nov this year.

Normally flights are pretty heavily booked in the preceeding couple of days as lots of Americans travel to be with their family, and the weekend after is usually heavily booked as well.

I am flying out to Orlando on the 23rd Nov(via Boston). I booked forgetting about Thanksgiving but the flight to Boston is still far from full. However the Boston - Orlando leg is just about full.

I would not think you will have a problem if you intend flying back to UK on a direct flight; but an indirect flight on 23rd might give you problems on the internal leg.

Just keep on top of when the flights are released. You are flying back on Thanksgiving, and all the action is over there so I would think you should be ok coming back to the UK. Most people who are there around that time would want to stay for the celebrations [msnsmile2]

Thank you all for your comments - took me a bit by suprise, will everything be open as normal ie the parks and restaurants or will everywhere close down as it is a holiday?

The parks are always open 24/7/365 but lots of restaurants do close down for the day although hotel restaurants will still be open. When we were there for Thanksgiving, Perkins was one of the few places open, if that's any help.
