This happened to me about 4 years ago and the bills fell into two types.

Those I had to pay as I had a contract with the supplier ie ( Utility, Phone, Cable, Water )

and those were I did not like garden and pool. As the MC had sub-contracted these they were responsible not me. I wrote to the people concerned recorded delivery and pointed out that there dispute was with the person who contracted them not me. Only one of them sent me a second bill which I ignored and I never heard another thing from anybody.

    Hope this helps.

If this owner is in the UK then the small claims court should work. You can uaually trace people to get their current address and surely their MC will always have it?

Can I just remind owners this is a guest area of the forums and not the right place to be talking about ownership other than to answer the guests question [msnsmile]

still an interesting read John, to see what can happen behind the scenes and it is not all plain sailing for the owners who work so dam hard at having a lovely property or 2 to rent out to people like us, who i am afraid take these things for granted!

basically seeing how it all works!!
    good luck to all

Very true Liesa - owning a villa in Florida involves a lot of heartache, hassles and problems as well as the upside of owning a beautiful dream home in the sun. It's nowhere near as easy as a lot of guests think it is but the hard work is definitely worth it.

thank you all very much your advice is being taken on board and Kevin and I appreciate all your support and help. To be honest I didnt think that some owners have had problems with their mc and thats awful. No wonder alot of you have been able to give us sound advice as some have had problems themselves.

    thank you all once again

    Kevin and rebekah
