US Customs advise not to wrap gifts in case they need to be opened to check the contents so, as long as you bear in mind that you might have to redo them.

Wait and wrap your pressies in Florida,
The wrapping paper is good quaility and different designs than the UK.

If you can I would wait - we've just come back from Orlando and two out of 6 suitcases were opened on the way and at least one on the way back. I would assume they would open presents etc.

Good to hear that wrapping paper is easy to find. The first time we ever visited Florida, it was at Christmas time and we searched everywhere for wrapping paper, Walmart, Publix and the malls but didn't find any. Maybe it was just too close to Christmas and they had run out. We ended up buying Disney tissue paper, which the boys ripped off with glee on Christmas morning.[msnsmile2]

Poundland have the jumbo bags usually at Christmas. I'm just waiting to see who is the first person to come up with a carrier bag big enough to put a bike in, bet they'll be around eventually.

I want to send a few bits over with my daughter for her for Christmas but am not quite sure what to do about them, obviously there is no point sending them if she knows what they are as the surprise element will be gone, but if I wrap them and then she tells security she has packed everything herself and for some reason they inspect it and ask her what is in there and she doesn't know , it's a problem.

I know it's a fairly small chance of her having to explain them but dont want any unnecessary worry.

Sarah If you are struggling again to find wrapping paper at the last minute head to WalGreens they have tons of stuff even on Xmas eve as Mrc CDV found out last year. He bought me a Jewlerry Amouire as one of my presents, it was over 3 foot tall and he wrapped it bless him you should have seen it!

I love wrapping pressies and spend a night doing it, I get some nibbles, a bottle of champers, some xmas music and every sort of wrapping material under he sun and really go for it. On more than one ocassion my friends have told me they did not want to open the pressie and spoil the wrapping so the effort is worth it.

Last year with Mr CDV I was running out of time and had tons to wrap so I cheated and got some xmas tissue and the flat boxes that you build yourself in packs of ten and I put all his stuff in that.

I saw those bike bags last year, they think of everything[xmas2]
