    Las Vegas

Now I know this is not a Florida question so if removed I know why,
Can anyone tell me/ or have they been to Las Vegas around Xmas, we were thinking of going for a week, but the weather charts look cool, however I have been told by a Vegas rep that it is warm during the day and cold at night, any info appreciated.
BMI are doing a trial so I have heard flying direct from Manchester Oh how I wish it was direct to Florida!!
    Thank you

We went to Las Vegas for Millenium New Years celebration. We started out in suits but were soon in shirtsleeves as the street party started. It is never 'cool' in LV except in AC rooms, particularly for the Brits. You might want a windbreaker for the night but certainly not more.

Haven't been at Christmas but can't imagine that it would be cold in the day. In the heat of the summer its really too hot to be outside for too long. Should imagine that it would be quite pleasant in December.[msnsmile2]

Its reasonably cool, around 60f max so you would expect to take a couple of jumpers - it can also be pretty wet. If you thinking of going further out to the Grand Canyon, definately wrap up as it can be very cold and snowing there on the canyon floor in December.

Mind you, when we went it was Millenium Eve and the weather was probably artificially warmed up by the massive crowds and all those lights and fireworks. Anyway, by midnight we would not have bothered if it was twenty below zero.

Was there Jan 5-9 last year. Warm enough during the day coldish at night but I was in a dress one night and didn't freeze - alcohol helped of course. needed a jacket the first night when at outdoor party for event the conference I wa at had.
Kind of like a nice autumn day at home.

We went on December 4th for 7 nights and it was a good temperature during the day, shorts and T-shirts but you certainly needed a jumper or light jacket at night as the temperature dropped quite a bit

I lived in Vegas for 4 years. December nights are cold. At least cold by Nevada standards. You'll need a jacket. The daytime temps are around 50-70. No super hot days but good enough to play in the pool. You'll see alot of snow on the mountains. The snow level falls to around 3000' in the winter. Vegas is around 2200'asl. Especially Mt. Charleston. But don't let that put you off. There's a lodge up there well worth the drive.
How are you getting there? Southwest Airlines have some super cheap fares right now from most US Gateway cities.
    Have fun.
