Make sure you buy an extended warranty, my daughter bought a sony digital camera and is currently having a huge dispute with them. It stopped working after 4 months and was sent away to be repaired, only for it to be returned as a chargeable repair. They say it has water damage and the charge for repair will be £114, although it might be irrepairable, in which case they keep the £114.

She is furious as says it has never been near water, and sony admit it could be damaged by something like a drop of rainwater and nothing she actually did. Thankfully she bought it on a credit card, and they are now investigating the matter for her. She bought from Jessops who have washed their hands of it.

Dave the actual camera i have my eye on is the
Sony 5.1 MP Cyber-shot DSC-T33 Digital Camera.I just thought it would have been cheaper and easier to get it over there but if it's available over the web as cheap i'm all for tat as well

Hi the best price I found online was £20 to £40 more than the US price but they were online prices so not sure what the in shop price will be.
BTW it is a nice camera my daughter has one and it does great, nice and handy its allways in her handbag.

thanks for looking Dave,I'm not that up to date on camera's and I like the size of that one, i did see that they also do a different style of Sony but with 7.1mp,but thought the other will be fine (or am i wrong?).Seeing that one of our first ports of call after dropping of the luggage is to go shopping for a few bit's and bob's i think i'll leave it until we get there. Many thanks again.

Bought my Sony Digital camera last year, paid equivilant $ instead of £. Cannot remember name of shop, but on the 192 near Carabbas and Outback, very helpful and gave me a good deal.

I have bought quite a bit over the years from a shop on the 192 near marker 10 - Camers Unlimited tel:407 787 3535. It is on the right hand side as you go North (just passed Medieval Times)

Ask for Gustavo (he owns the place)... prices are cheap but he will also deal for cash ! If you order things in advance he will also get UK spec's if requested on the things that are different.

    Worth a call

It is very easy to find as there are Marker posts all the way up and down the 192. They literally say "Marker xx" . Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think they are every MILE ??

I would just turn up and see what they have. They may or may not have the exact camera you want... but so long as you have the model he will match it to the same. I found that they always have a newer model than in the UK (typical!)... also they are far more knowledgeable than your average Curry's, Jessops or similar.

I purchased a Fuji Finepix from him last year and I also went with the exact model I wanted. I ended up getting the newer model with a wide angle lens for around $400 ( which at the time would have cost £400). I would also recommend thinking about what SIM cards you want... get them as part of the 'deal' (and the bag, and the lens cover, and anything else you need!)
