October is our favourite time (also May) and all being well we'll be there in a couple of weeks
time. The temperatures and more importantly the humidity are usually just right for us, mainly in the mid - eighties. Not being tied to the UK school holidays, we normally avoid those couple of weeks and find the parks fairly quiet and the queues are short. October is strongly recommended. [msnsmile2]

Thanks so much guys! You are always so helpful!

I know its still a long way off....but it gives me time to plan and more importantly save!
Halloween in the US would be amazing wouldn't it! I love the idea of that theme park for Halloween, and I know the guys and the older kids would love a good scaring! What an experience!

    The weather sounds fantastic too!

October is without doubt a fabulous time to visit, we always went in October until our daughter was older, and schooling more important!! We switched to Easter a couple of years ago, but Hurrah! she now gets the 2 week half-term in October, so we get to go again this year[8D].
I adore October, and would choose Easter and October every year (hope to, but we will see!) I think the weather is glorious in October, and I am a real sunseeker too. We have never found the parks too busy (be aware that Magic Kingdom will close at around 6pm on their "Not so scary Halloween Nights". I think pool heat is a must, just because the temp does drop overnight, and obviously the heat of the sun is less hours in the day. I have so far never experinced any rain during October either

We have been a couple of times in October, it is one of our favourite times to go. The weather is good but not too hot and the parks less crowded than the summer months. You will have a great time Twiglet.[msnsmile2]

It's lovely weather compared with the UK, but aren't you hotting up in Oz by then? However it is a much more pleasant temperature to do the parks in, and yet you can still enjoy a swim in the pool!

And if the children are getting older you can enjoy both WDW and Universal Studios (who do a seriously scary one i believe!) and enjoy the decorated houses. Do be prepared to enter into the occasion and dress up[msnwink].

Just got back today, weather fantastic. No queues anywhere. All the US people we talked to said it was like this up until Thanksgiving. Perfect time to go! Lots of offers on in the restaurants as well

Ha Ha Ha....love the dressing up bit! Also yes it is a warm time to leave Oz, spring started the first of September so its nice now, but it will just be hitting summer when we get back end of Nov, so we won't be missing too much sun, we get more than our fair share 9 months of the year as it is!

Thanks for everyone's tips. I'm like the sound of offers in the restaurants Steveie!

October half term would certainly be one of our favourite times to visit Orlando. The weather is near perfect with far less humidity, so it makes everything easy to do. We have never found it busy, so visits to the parks are great at this time.

The best bit is knowing that, back in the UK they are probably shivering with the central heating on - whilst in Florida it is warm enough to enjoy swimming in our beautiful pool.

The only problem is leaving the pool and the sunshine behind when its time to go back to the UK!

Two week half term - that sounds great, we still only get the one week, is it just in your area?
