    Hurricane Katrina

May I just say to all who may have been affected by Hurricane Katrina that I and many, many British people are thinking of and praying for you all.

    Regards

Been reading up a lot on this especially on the local news 6 website for Orlando and it appears thousands have probably died. Gas is going into shortage so they are opening emergency reserves, average gas price is $3 a gallon now - people are panic buying and many gas stations are actually empty! School buses will not be in effect from Tuesday for the kiddies, miserable time for many. There is a donation website set up through local news 6 for contributions it appears by credit card.

I just had an e-mail from my friend in the States. Seems the situation as we have seen on the BBC news is really that bad.

Shame "human nature" on the part of some has bought out the more "un-savoury" element in this appauling situation in New Orleans area. As if things were not bad enough with out the wicked behaviour of some !

Shooting at medical staff as they evacuate patients is disgusting.

Seems that government help is a bit slow in appearing !

If my villa was built I would house the elderly and sick - trouble is you cannot 'pick' who you would help, and quite honestly the behaviour of the few just makes me so angry. I cannot quite understand how things have got so bad. The government knew it was coming and reporters and weather forecasters had been warning how bad it could be so why had some strategies not been put in place. Thoughts are with them in this awful situation.

My heart goes out to those caught up in the misery of New Orleans. What a shocking catastrophe....unbelievable pictures being aired here in Oz. T
