I've been a member since 1995. Their meat is the best. They have a great food department. If you guys want to stock up for a few weeks in a vacation villa with just one trip to the store Sams is the best. Also they have pretty good deals on electronics. We just bought a Panasonic 52 inch HDTV with speakers and a stand there for $2000.
Also, if you are a resident here they sell tires at around 10% - 15% below usual cost. With free fitting.

We wandered around Sam's Club without even a day pass.Presentation, branding and merchandise very similar to Costco.

As we are already UK Costco members (and can use the same cards in the US) we didn't think it worthwhile signing up to Sam's Club too.

We had a look around Sam's Club and B.J's in May when we were there. We thought they were very similar to Costco and Makro too. (I used to be a Costco member in the UK and you can use your card at the Costco on the Orange Blossom Trail, but let my membership run out as I did not use
it much and found their choice of items smaller than Makro, who don't charge an annual fee).

For most items I would say that Walmart & Super Target have a far wider range of goods and their prices are so competitive that if you take the annual membership fee into account, unless you use Sams Club / B.Js very regularly , I doubt that joining up is worth it. [msnsmile]

If you take a business card (we took Steves 1 from here) you can get a business membership. The petrol is cheaper & the PS2 games. They have a travel club with some brilliant bargains such as cruise to Nassau for $200. There is 1 on OBT as well

We joined last week and saved $500 on a 47" HDTV, from the price at Sears.[msnsmile2]

We thought the same as Kevin and Andy. We just walked in the one on West Colonial and said we wanted to look around. I suppose if you live there all the time it's worth joining just as we have a Makro card over here, but otherwise I don't think its worth it.

Sams Club is ok if you were living in America but I found it expensive because of the bulk buying. For our needs we didn't need to buy things like a dozen tins of tuna at once.
