You've had your highlights done again haven't you Carol?[msnwink]
The California Grill is at the top of the resort. Is Chef Mickey's the one you can see from the monorail?<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by CarolAnn

    That's right Liz.

There is a viewing platform outside the California Grill to watch the fireworks - it's kind of like a pier with railings, the view is fantastic but because you're up high and it's late it can get very cold and windy, Declan and I braved it when we were there but the rest of our party stayed inside. If you think you might be tempted to go out and watch the fireworks take something warm to pop on.

We have made a reservation, couldn't get the Sunday evening, which was our first choice, unless we wanted to dine at 5.30 or 9.30 pm so have opted for the Monday. Thatwas booking 2 weeks ahead for late Sept.<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by stuart

    Thanks Liz,

Its our Silver Wedding Anniversary on 20th so will get onto them, this evening, to reserve a table. Hopefully, we're not too late[msnembarrased]

Congratulations on your Silver Wedding, it was 27 for us this year!

Just our luck they only have tables for 5.30 and 9, so no good[msncry] but have booked a table at Narcoossee at the Grand Floridian for 7.30. Apparantly you can see the fireworks from this restaurant too[msnsmile2] Just got to decide what to wear[msnwink] Hope you have wonderful time on 18th

Just an update to say that our meal at The California grill was superb.
Our reservation was at 20.10 and we arrived a little early to see the fireworks. They were running about 20 mins late so we made our way up to the viewing platform to watch "Wishes" which was as usual quite moving. You certainly get a whole different perspective viewing from above.
We had time for a drink at the bar before our meal and were then seated at our window table. The server was attentive and we never felt rushed or pressured, the food was excellent.
I had a crabmeat starter whilst hubby opted for ravioli stuffed with riccotta cheese, both were beautifully presented and delicious, we followed this with grilled atlantic salmon (me)and veal for my other half again both we can strongly recommend.
We were really both too full for a dessert but couldn't resist so I had a bannana and butterscotch concoction whilst David opted for the cheese board.
It was a tad more pricey than a meal at Bennigans[msnwink] ( though nothing like you would pay for the equivalent dining experience in the UK) but worth every penny as the food service and ambience were excellent.
    Strongly recommended.
