American Patchwork Quilts

Does anyone know of any good Patchwork material shops in Orlando. My mother in law is coming with us later on this year[:O] and wants to make an American Patchwork Quilt. We have brought her back material samples from Walmart but she`s looking for something different and would like to visit a specialised shop.

Try Joannes fabrics on the 192 near to the Super Target

I was really impressed with the craftwork section in Walmart - so much more than in anything in the UK. Definately worth a visit! I bought some lovely fabric to make patchwork wall hangings for our villa and fabric to cover dining room chairs was extremely reasonable & there was great choice.

Definitely Jo-Anne's. They actually carry "kits" in our local store (like a square a month), but they also have quilter's quarters, too.

I would agree with Joanne's I get great material and everything else for patchwork there. However don't forget to look at Queen Anne's Lace at the east end of Highway 192, just beyond the Orange Blossom Trail junction on the left hand side of the road. It has some wonderful fabrics, not as cheap as Joanne's but very different quality. There is also Hancock's Fabrics on East Colonial Drive where there is another Joanne's too. It is on the right hand side if you are driving east.
