Sorry, I liked this one the best:

If you are old enough to remember when there were no vehicles, you should not be behind the wheel of a vehicle.

I agree with the sentiment of this thread....tipping is expected....but then so is an excellent service. My tips will be between 10 - 15% but if I am given a bad service I will not tip. It is a service industry and I certainly do not like to feel pressured into tipping, a smiling face and a nice bit of grub and the tips yours!

Also, I am sure most visitors from the UK do tip, there are possibly a small amount of Brit's who just aren't aware of the tipping procedure?

I disagree. I think most Brits don't tip. Or at least don't tip the traditional amount.
Remember, the vast amount of overseas tourists are here for the first time. You folks are repeat visitors and are familiar with the USA and her strange customs.

First time visitors are told how much tip is expected when they get the tickets. Every Brit I have ever seen in a restaurant over there tips.
We always leave 15-20% but I still feel at times that the servers don't think this is enough ![msnoo][msnoo]

If that attitude is typical of the average Orlando server then I can see why they aren't being tipped. Whoever wrote that just sounds like they have a huge chip on their shoulder.

Like most of you,i tip well when i have had good service. On my last trip i went to a chinese buffet and they stood next to me while we gave them the tip,i felt very angry about this.I gave them the tip but not as good as i would have.In my opinion you should only tip if you have had good service and if you want to.

While we were in Golden Coral last week I heard some waiters and waitress'es talking about tips and one said she had made $175 that day.

Jeff & Amy, I disagree with you. Infact I think American's are terrible at tipping. Ask my niece! The great land of opportunity and they can't pay their waiting staff a decent basic wage??

How much would you tip at a dinner show? Obviously, we pay a lot for tickets for shows such as
Arabian Nights, but I consider, since the food is generally not that great, that the main cost of the ticket is for the show, not the food. Yet, the servers will hand you a card suggesting a 15% tip!
