    HI Paddy,

De Leon Spring is a nice day trip. North on I-4 until you follow signs for De Land (nice old fashioned town) to stop off and browse around on the way.

The De Leon Spring Nature Park itself was great you can swim / take a boat trip / and - a bonus as far as I'm concerned - your choose own fillings and make your own pancakes at the table in the Sugar Mill restaurant on site if/when the weather turns bad.

Also, privately owned Bok Tower Gardens is another nice relaxing afternoon trip down the 27 South (sign posted)near Lake Wales. Pretty gardens/tower with carillion music (mostly recording) played 3.00pm everyday and on the hour.

We went on a horse riding trip this year - very different from the same type of thing in the UK & most enjoyable. Also Boggy Creek which we loved & Old Town which has some great shops. We went to Celebration but it was late & we just had time for a quick look round & a FANTASTIC meal at the Tavern. Other than that as we were refurbishing one of our villas we spent a lot of time in Walmart & the malls shopping!! Would I recommend that as well - absolutely!! [msnwink]

If you are going late October/November time try Blue springs national park up near Sanford. If you are lucky the manatees will be wintering there.
