We always take 417 south to Celebration and US192 West to HW27, we do the journey in less than 45 minutes. The tolls on 417 are 2 x $1 and a 0.50c toll at celebration (exact change)

Same for us its so much nicer to drive than the North exit[msnwink]

South to the 417 for us.
We recently directed first time guests this way and they were amazed at how quick and easy it was, especially as finding the villa had been their biggest worry.

Anyone going to I-Drive plus most of the locals tend to use the North exit as Orlando itself is North of the airport.

For me it depends on the hire car company. If I book a rental car with a base on the airport then I use South exit and 417, when I use an off site one to the North so use the 528. The south and 417 is normally a quieter route. Either way, remember some change for the tolls.

Will be heading to Emerald Island and using [name edited] for the car who in the past have used Alamo as their local agent.

Are Alamo on site now?? They used to be at the Junction of the 528 and US15.

Do you actually have to go out of the airport at all to sign for your car?? eg at Sanford you leave the terminal building but not the airport site.

Alamo are on-site at Orlando International, near Dollar, in the same Car Park, across the road from Arrivals. You sign for your car in the Terminal and then walk out across the road into the Car Park.
