Help please!! For the just-under 21 visitors...

    Hello all~

I will be coming to Orlando next week with my friend...we are both 20 and are wondering about the under-21 clubs there? Are there many? And which are the best ones in your opinion? Also, how strict are they about fake IDs if we want to sneak a drink or 2? Any help is appreciated...thanks so much! Hopefully, no hurricanes on the way!

also so not a good idea about fake ID!!!! or sneaking drinks, i think i have read in places that everywhere is very strict about underage drinking, 21 in florida, and ID has to be shown, i had to show ID at 42 for a bottle of vodka in the off license!!!!

    Hello,
I beleive there are some clubs that will allow under 21s at Pleasure Island and City Walk. Although you will not be able to drink alcohol. Breaking the drink law is very serious and you would be arrested, the bar person would lose his job and the bar would lose theri license. For that reason most bar staff will ask for ID (fake are easily spotted) of anyone who looks 30 or younger.

I would have to agree with LiesaAnna they are terribly strict about underage drinking in Florida . My son is 25 and he was asked for his ID everywhere we went , my daughter is almost 21 but she only had soft drinks or water when we went out to eat , she only had wine or beer in the villa, another reason we ate in quite a lot. One day my husband was buying groceries in Walmart including wine and the check out lady asked him for id , at 55 he was flattered. They never got around to going to a club it wasnt that kind of holiday ,plenty of time for clubbing at home.

Not worth getting into trouble, you will have a great time without the alcohol.

My hubby is 40 and he gets asked for his ID all the time in the US, he likes to think its cos he looks young, but he knows its just policy really.[msnwink]

It's very strict on drinking here. Between me and my husband we have three teenage boys (oh joy! haha) between 15-17 and of course they'd love to be able to slip a drink or three past us given half the chance.

The problem is here that even if your parents allow you to drink at home and they allow you a sneaky drink here, then they would be liable and prosecuted.

If you go anywhere from bars to the liquor store you'll be asked for ID for ciggies and drink. They're not stupid when it comes to fake IDs, enough Florida kids try to get away with it. They'll probably ask you for your passport as ID and that's not going to lie is it? The fact that you can pretend not to know the law here, doesn't wash either. The law is the law is the law. It's up to you to find out what the laws are here and adhere to them. It's just that strict.

Besides, who would want to risk something silly like that, get in trouble with the law and not likely to be able to come back to Florida again because you have a record. Not worth it in my opinion.

Rather untypically, I've never been asked for ID in bar over there and I was only 30 the first time I went.
Wow I must look old ! Pass the botox someone.[msneek]

Having said that, my friend who's the same age, was refused a drink as he had no ID, even though he's gone bald ![drinkpepsi]

Have a pepsi instead and look forward to next time when you will be old enough!
