Just did a quick web search on this. The recommended price for this particular camcorder in the USA is $599.00 (£333) The cheapest I could find in the UK was at Digital-point.co.uk they were asking £379.00.
Not a great deal of difference and if you buy in the UK there's always the bonus of a warranty if there's a problem.
Having said that I bought a Sony DSc 85 digital camera at the Sony factory shop in the Prime Outlet off the I75. I think it was near Bonita Springs. I paid much less than the Sony recommended price so if I were you I'd take a look at the Sony outlets.
P.S.
Avoid Gatwick, their prices are just not competitive.
thanks will probabley buy in the uk, to get the warranty.
we bought in us and as it was sony we had an international warranty so we can get it fixed over here too if we need too, this we have had years and so far no problems what so ever.
more choice over there in my opinion but up to you

I think there are sometimes problems because UK TV/Video/Camcorders are based on the PAL system, wherease USA are NTSC.
My Cannon has a PAL logo on it and I saw the similar model in Florida with an NTSC Logo. Same model number but obviously different.
