    Passport Query

    Does anyone know whether your passposrt still needs to be valid for 6 months after your date of entry to the USA?

    The American Embassy doesn't say that you still need to have 6 months, my husbands passpoort needs renewing and we are supposed to be going in September!

    Help please????[msneek]

    Hi Caroline - Here is some info from the US Embassy web-site:

    "If traveling under the Visa Waiver Program, the passport must be valid for at least 90 days from the date on which the holder enters the United States. If not, the holder will be admitted until the expiration date on the passport. Note: Passport holders from Andorra, Brunei, and San Marino must be in possession of a passport valid for at least six months from the date of departure from the United States, even if traveling visa free under the Visa Waiver Program.”

    Make sure it is machine readable, someone we know wasn't and he got turned away at Gatwick whilst he wife came out by herself.
