<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Just an update. I have reported the Nationwide to the Advertising Standards Agency for inaccurate advertising. Their advert intimates that charges appear on your credit card statement - they don't.
Their TV advert, where the girl sits down and says what are these charges on my statement for using my CC abroad, is wrong because OTHER credit companies DO NOT make a charge on your credit card statement so therefore the advert is missleading people.
I am sorry but it is the Nationwide who are trying to con people by saying that they will see a charge on their statements which is actually totally incorrect.

Paul,
Regarding the Nationwide advert. I have just listed carefully to the words.
The girl says “I have just looked at my statement and it appears that I have been charged for my transactions”
Later she says “then why have they charged me?”
i.e. Nothing about a(separate) charge appearing on her statement.
So the advert is absolutely correct – banks charge(up to 2.75%) by using a lower exchange rate and Nationwide doesn’t. So I cannot see what is in any way misleading about the advert.
