    Early January Weather

When we've been to Orlando before it's been between August and October. But thinking about going late December and early January, what sort of temperatures can we expect at that time of year?

We have not been in January, but have been the first week in Feb. The weather was in the low 70s. Very nice if you dont like it too hot and very little rain. Another big bonus the parks are reasonably quiet and hardly any queues.

when we went christmas and new year, it was hot in the day,but about 4pm it got cold, in the day time we wore shorts and t-shirts, then put on fleeces and jeans for the evening. not cold like in the uk. on new years day we went to clearwater, we had bikins on, weather was gorgeous. but the water was freezing. lovely time of the year to go, the christmas lights were out of this world, everybody makes an effort to decorate the outside of the houses, and the osbourne lights are brilliant. barbara

Thanks for the replies. I can tell hubby he can take his shorts then!! We're not going away before then and he feels like he's missing out on a summer holiday.

You can normally expect to have daytime temperatures around 70F and in the sun this feels warmer. However it can also drop down to the 50's and nightime frosts are not unknown.

Obviously much better than UK but not as warm as lots of people think.

We were over in Jan this year and the weather was mostly very pleasant. We did have a couple of days of rain but it wasn't cold. In the evening you do need a flleece or somethins but certainly not an overcoat.

We love the cooler months in Florida, you are still able to wear your shorts in the day time.[msnsmile2]

We have been late January, it was quite fresh some days, but bright blue skys, no more than a sweatshirt and jeans, and plenty of days with shorts and t's on[msncool] The great thing about going to orlando is there is just so much to do, on a slightly cooler day, there is always a mall to fit in!![msnwink][msnwink]And as others have said the parks are a dream[msnsmile2]

We will be there from Jan 3rd until 12th. When do they take the Christmas lights down? Is it twelvth night (6th Jan), same as the UK? This would be a special bonus for us if they are still there.
