What wonderful news that both passengers and crew survived what could easily be a horrific disaster in Toronto. Congratulations to the crew for a job well done .My daughter Sinead is at present in Toronto and flying home to Dublin tomorrow ,she is a nervous passenger at the best of times and this will not help her.

wow this was scary to watch, we are flying from orlando to Toronto on Friday and I HATE flying so this makes me even more nervous although its great news to see everyone survived because thats not always the case.
My son is a huge airline fan and he keeps reminding me that your more likely to be hit walking down the road than being in a plane crash which calms me down a bit ( only a small bit [msnscared][msnscared])

I must admit Karen, when I saw the posting I did think that maybe it is a bit unnerving to put it on what is supposed to be a forum to help guests get the best from their holiday. If you are a nervous flyer then it only serves to enhance any fears anyone may have.

I realise it was posted in the off topic section but it seems to be rapidly becoming a news section, which most people would see in the daily course of their lives, on tv, papers etc., and imo adds no particular value I'm glad there were so few injuries but it still isn't particularly reassuring.

I think we have to be realistic, and not sugar coat all posts on this forum, we are all grown ups on here and the purpose of a forum is to discuss - good or bad, otherwise how can guests be sure you are telling them the truth if everything is sugar coated[msnwink] or is it a case of political correctness gone mad!

Accidents happen the world over including at Disney and on planes (however you are more likley to be hurt in a car which we all use daily) and not posting about them does not mean they don't happen occasionally, it is silly to think that posting the truth will put poeple off going to Florida - it won't[msnsmile2]

Off topic means exactly that, and in my view its a quick way to get information to people who are using the forum at that time. As there were Brits on board the Air France flight I felt it was a justified post[msnwink]

It's not a case of pc gone mad but as I said I can't see the point of every news item being posted on here, whether there were Brits on board or not it was an Air France plane in Canada so in all probability isn't going to be affecting anyone who's going to Florida.
