Hi Need help with flight info

Hi just received my e ticket through the post this morning again (received originally 6 weeks ago) it says we dont need to confirm our outbound flights but need to confirm all further flights with the airline 72 hours before departure. Has anyone noticed this on their information.

We are flying out on the 13th August with virgin. Can anyone advise me please. Many thanks Rebekah

Where did you buy the tickets, Virgin direct, holidays or travel agent?

Instant holidays part of the co op group. Just booked the flight only for virgin. I didnt honestly think we would have to check that the flight home was still going to be same time. Never had to do anything like this before, mind you this is our flight schedule flight lucy. thanks rebekah

    Hi Rebekah

I used to work for Instant Holidays. They are a company that use workers from home and this letter is a standard one they use for all companies whoever you have booked with, either flight only or packages.

If you have booked a virgin flight it is not necessary to re confirm your flights before travel (I have never done this in 10 years of flying with Virgin). There are some airlines that do require this for some obscure destinations.

If you are flying out in August this year then Virgin will already have a record of your flight and if you are worried then you can always ring them. If however, it is next year you are travelling (a fly drive)then your only person to check with is Instant Holidays as Virgin would not as yet have a record of your booking.

    Hope that helps

Hi Jill.....many thanks indeed that has helped me very much indeed. I have noticed on the e ticket it does indeed say flight re confirmed hence why it though me a bit. You have answered my question. Its not long only 2 weeks tomorrow and we are so looking forward to it. I was going to email instant holiday but I thought this may of been quicker. The lady who has helped me a great deal in instant holidays would of been able to help me but I wanted a quicker answer.

I must admit I would like to do that type of work from home myself. I find travel etc very interesting and would love to do that type of work from my own home and make sure I dont lose out on my children and family.

    thank you jill.
    regards rebekah

If you were to call Virgin Atlantic, you will hear on their recorded message that flights do not have to be reconfirmed.

I work for a travel company, and know that when we send IATA tickets for any non-BA flights, the ticket wallet has a little stickers on it that states "Onward reservatios must be re-confirmned with the relevant airline 72 hours prior to departure"

For our company, that means if you have any other flights booked in conjunction with these (on a seperate ref or airline) you need to make sure you can still make your connections (eg if there have been schedule changes)

Maybe it could be the same?
