We have just spent 3 weeks at Port Charlotte before coming to our villa in Orlando. Our favourite restaurants are Johnny Leverocks at Cape Haze and South Beach on Boca GrandeWe also frequent the restaurants at Port Charlotte especially the Olive Garden and CarrabasThe area is fantastic, with lots to do, you will have a great time

We are off to Orlando in October, but I am already thinking about next year (don't tell my husband, I'll work on him).

We always just go to Orlando with a couple of days trips out ie Clearwater etc, but was thinking of having a week in Orlando and then a week on the Gulf.

There is myself, husband and 3 girls (15,13 and 10).

I have been looking at villas and most seem to be in the Rotonda area, would this be a suitable place to go.

What sort of places could we go while there?

My husband is a keen golfer, fisherman, walker so guess there would be plenty for him to do.

Andrew, thank you for the e-mail.

I am almost sure that next time we will do a two centre holiday, it sounds great and has all the things that my husband loves to do.

    Also:-

Don Pedro island - accessible only by boat

    Myakka River State Park

    Fishermans Village, Punta Gorda

Plenty of retail therapy at Port Charlotte Mall with Old Navy, The Limited and 5 department stores or for more up market try the Bell Tower Shopping centre, Fort Myers with Saks Fifth Avenue and also Banana Republique and Gap. Try Johnny Rockets for lunch – 50’s style diner – great entertainment value. Next to the Bell Tower there is a 20 screen cinema to occupy any members of your group who hate shopping.

We have just returned from Florida and had the most fantastic holiday we stayed at Port Charlotte for a few days before returning to our villa in Orlando.

We have just fallen in love with this aria of the gulf cost the beaches are out of this world Safe swimming and golden sands.
We had lunch at the South Beach Bar and grill, Boca Grande
And there are so many more good restaurants to choose from

We also had a day out at the local nature reserves along with an air boat ride it was absolutely fantastic.

We spent quite some time in Rotander and was very taken by it in fact we fell in love with Rotander.
There is so much to do there

You can fish on the canal.
    Play golf.
    Bike Ride
    Play tennis.
    There is a picnic aria.
    A nature trail.
    and much much more
