My 19 year old daughter spent a year in the Miami area as part of her degree course, and travelled around widely. She also visited our villa in Orlando. She had no problems, and felt no fear. She is back there again working for the summer, and loves every minute.

We have never felt afraid in Orlando. Indeed, had we done so we would never have considered buying a villa there. If you spend time in any city in this country you will observe anti-social behaviour. You must just be as sensible as you would be in the UK.

The advice Blott gives is good advice, and there are places to avoid just like any town or city in the world. Just use common sense and you'll easili recognise and avoid these places.
The bigest danger is taking your kids into Walmart because they'll fleece you[msnwink].
The only trouble I've had is someone stealing our rental stroller in universal[msnmad]

We have travelled all over the States Never once have we encountered any problems or felt unsafe or threatened
MY ADVICE WOULD BE where ever you are in the world you use your commonsense
I will say this ,there are areas of Great Britain I wouldnt go to late at night
Florida is as safe as anywhere else and a dam lot safer than some I could mention in the UK
