    Wireless Hotspots?

Hi everyone. I'm planning on going back to Florida in December this year but unfortunately it looks like I will need to take a laptop with me just in case I need to do a bit of work, possibly during the day.

This would mean I'd need to access the Internet to get my emails and upload my completed work.

So... Can anyone tell me if there are Wireless Internet Hotspots in any of the parks and also, less importantly, anywhere else, restaurants etc?

I know here in sunny England, McDonalds have just started offering free access to wireless hotspots in their restaurants so surley they have them in the USA also?

It's really important for me that the parks offer them. That would solve the problem as I could sit in a park restaurant, do the work (we're only talking 30 mins a time) and then get back to my holiday.

If no one knows, could you provide me with email addresses so I can ask someone at the parks directly, I've looked on their websites but can only find telephone numbers.

The main parks I plan on visiting are all the Disney & Universal ones.

    Thanks.

Are you staying in a villa or a hotel? Lots of villas have internet access these days so you could do your work before going out or after you come back.

It is becoming more popular for restuarants/hotels/villas to offer this service. Sometimes it free but there again sometimes you have to pay for the service.
Why not e mail customer relations at either Disney or Universal to see if they offer this service.

You can also get internet access in Kinkos and Starbucks coffee houses.
On the Wi-fi finder sites, there are no internet access points in Disney or Universal.

Stay in one of our villas with broadband internet access.

You can be sitting under the lanai, on the laptop, while the family are in the pool!

Try it and see - it works[msnsmile2]

Can someone explain how this works? We have a clubhouse at our community that is a wireless hotspot, and I will be taking our laptop. Do I need anything special, or will the card I have work in the hotspot? Sorry, really not that computer literate.

Thanks Olive. I found that one on a free site and reminds me of floating on a (Walmart) lilo in our pool with a tumbler of ice and Tropicana.
Thankfully I haven't become similar to Homer in looks!! Doh!

When you take your laptop, just open your browser while you are there and everything should work. This is provided your laptop is wireless enabled. Just set your laptop to connect via wireless.
There may be a portal page for the community requiring a log-in. You will have to check with the clubhouse whether the network is password protected. It should not be, but beware that your communications can be read by others with the right software.
I have heard of people using Starbucks who were e-mailed by someone else in the coffee house to warn them that they were able to see the contents of their e-mails. (passwords encrypt the signals and make the network private).
