Now this launch has gone they should be available on the NASA website fairly soon but we aren't going to buy any as the probability is that it won't go when we are there, we'll find somewhere we can view it from if it looks like its going.

Well, we didn't quite make it to Cocoa Beach, we and just about eveyone else stopped on the i-4 at the side of the road and watched from there - it was still fantastic, but then we heard from neighbours we could have seen it from the villa - doh!!!
How fantastic it looked on TV. It must have been brilliant to be there & actually see it happen.[clap] We did see a satellite launch once, which was also very exciting but we've never seen a manned shuttle.
Can someone tell us when the shuttle is due to land back in Florida? I'd love to see it if it was while we were over.
Here's hoping everything goes to plan & that the mission is a great success and hope for a safe return.
Usually when it's landed they 'hide' it away in a building whilst they do checks, etc on it. We were lucky enough to see one being transported back to its home the day after it landed. It usually looks a lot dirtier and battered than when it started out!
blott
You will certainly hear it when it lands, the sonic boom is very loud.
