When to visit?

Hi Twiglet

January can be a little on the cold side. It's pot luck really.
We got married in Florida in January 2001. Had a great first week, but the second week was a bit chilly!
Of course I mean chilly by Florida standards! It's nice a quiet in the parks though.

September would be a lot warmer. And quieter than the summer months.
Depends if you want to do water parks? you need the good weather for those.

We have been in April, May, June, July and September/october and I would definately say the that Sept/Oct is the best. We had a trip in 1997 where we only had rain on 1 day out of 2 weeks and I am talking any rain!

We also went Sept 2003 and had rain every day but we did every ride in all the parks and didn't need to use Fastpass on anything in a Disney park and only MIB in Universal.

September gets my vote and August gets my goat!

What's August like? Is it bearable...heat wise? We would be ok, we are used to heat, just wondering about the poms [msnwink]

August can be very hot and wet.Temperatures in 90s to over 100 with quite high humidity and
tropical thunderstorms. On clear days temperatures can get even higher. (So you have to go to the parks to get soaked anyway !! )

In the past we have always been April into May and it has been beautiful. This year we went in June, it was lovely, just a little on the wet side. But, when it did rain you got a heavy downpore which lasted about an hour then it was lovely again. Certainly didn't put us off anyway. Booked for July next year.

BUT REMEMBER Florida is PERFECT any time of the year.

I like all these votes for Sept!!! We are going in Sept this year, first time at this time of year although we did last week of Oct last year and it was great.

Liz, I love September too! We are heading down the 10th to the 17th. Admittedly, we are pulling some out of school, but oh well!
