my brain has gone - can I put disposable cameras in my case to go in hold??? I normally keep my digital with me but I have got some disposable ones for in the water and I carn't think straight - getting near now - just packing

Hand luggage I would say to be on the safe side. The X-Rays they use on luggage is stronger than the hand luggage one and they do recommend undeveloped fim to be put in your hand luggage.
Def. hand luggage, the hold XRay scanners (esp. the US ones) are a lot more powerful after 911 and can damage most undeveloped film, there are also a few reports of damage to sensitive elctronics (since they increased the levels for the second time since 911). We take all our cameras and electronics in our hand luggage and have never had a problem.

I wouldn't put any film exposed or not in the hold luggage. Developed film will fog and undevelop film will come out overexposed
Thanks to all I knew it was hand luggage but I just had a lapse, been so much going on with water leaks and my computer burnt out, so just trying to get sorted before we go never mind this time Tues I'll be relaxing in the place we all love!!!! and all this will seem like a bad dream.[8D][8D][8D][8D]
