How do you keep cool in the Florida sun?

I have a moaning daughter who always complains its too hot (even in England) - any suggestions?

Drink plenty of beer!! We also bought a couple of those small battery operated fans from Walmart, couple of dollars each.

Wear a hat with a brim that shades both your face and neck.

Living in Australia now, it took me a while to get used to the heat.
If she is having trouble sleeping at night, have as cold a shower as bearable, then pat off excess moisture and lie on top of bed with just a sheet. They usually fall asleep quite quickly, the body has cooled down, and any air in the room will feel very cool as the skin is damp. Usually works a treat.

Make sure you slip slop slap, as they say here. Slip on long sleeved shirt, slop on the sunscreen and slap on a hat! The little roll on sun screen is great, as its very easy to apply, and not messy, and the kids usually like applying it with a little help from you!

I agree the fan with the water spray is great. Also, making the most of your pool!! Go to the theme parks early, come back to the villa during the day and then cool off returning to the parks when it is coller.
